Storie in Italy
One of a kind jewelry made from vintage pieces we find at antique markets throughout Italy. We reimagine them using fabric, rosary beads, handmade charms and the occasional saint to create unique pieces that tell a story.
Storie: Italian word meaning history, stories
Antonio Greco, artist, first conceived this unique wearable art in 2002. Since then Michèle Lilley, and designers, Gina Pagnella and Emanuela Colombo have been reimagining vintage pieces we've found at local markets to create unique bijoux where no two stories are alike.
Emanuela, Michèle and Gina in Vernazza
Desinger Gina Pagnella has lived in Monterosso since 2006. Originally from Pacific Grove, CA she's our "Modern Thrifter in the Old World" with her own brand of vintage clothing, style and tips for where to find the best vintage buys in Italy.
Designer Emanuela Colombo
a.k.a. "Manu" was born and raised in Vernazza. An avid shopper and Italian fashionista she keeps us on our toes and adds local flavor to our designs.
Designer and owner Michèle Lilley left her career in film production and moved to Vernazza in 2000. In 2001 she and local artist, Antonio Greco opened Bottega d'Arte Cinqueterre where Antonio exhibits his artwork and Michèle adds her two-bits conceptualizing, designing and marketing the Storie in Italy line.
Michèle is passionate about all things "old" and meaningful. She enjoys scouring antique markets throughout Italy to find one-off and sometimes odd collectables that speak to her.
